Launched in September 2018, FOX Bet NJ online sportsbook has already made a big impact on New Jersey’s sports bettors. Why? In the past, The Stars Group was at one time known chiefly for its popular PokerStars product, but lately the company has gained a reputation for its sports betting platforms and has been challenging the world’s leading betting brands for supremacy in Europe and North America. The Stars Group has recently signed a 25-year partnership deal with Fox Sports, with many experts believing the deal could lead to more innovative sports betting products in the United States.

FOX Bet NJ has partnered with Resorts Casino Atlantic City in order to obtain a license to offer legal online sports betting in New Jersey. A link to the licensing info from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement can be found on the bottom of the FOX Bet NJ sportsbook homepage. FOX Bet and its partner Resorts take all necessary steps to ensure you details are not misused and that they are kept safe. Robust firewalls, the latest SSL encryption methods and login security procedures are all applied to both the mobile betting app and desktop sportsbook.

In the short time FOX Bet has been operating online in New Jersey, it has received plenty of good feedback and looks to be developing a reputation that will see its continued growth. Sports betting experts have been enthusiastic about highlighting the range of promotions and excellent betting platforms among its strongest points. FOX Bet has won several sports betting awards in the past, including an innovation award for its Spin & Bet feature.

A large and varied selection of payment methods is offered at FOX Bet NJ. New bettors should note that there are some maximum deposit limits put on some payment methods, and a request may need to be sent in to FOX Bet to increase them. In addition, Neteller and Skrill deposits are excluded from the new bettor welcome bonus.

As with the desktop sports betting site, FOX Bet NJ sportsbook app looks and feels a bit different from the rest of the New Jersey online sports betting apps. Is that a good thing? Most likely, especially as FOX Bet’ app has some really cool features that allow you to customize the app to your liking. All the sports and betting markets available on the desktop can be accessed for mobile betting through the app, and the app is easy to use. We found no issues with bugginess on the mobile betting platform, even after taking advantage of some of the customization features.  

There was a bit of a problem launching the betting app for Apple handsets back in 2018, but FOX Bet has sorted out those issues and the official FOX Bet NJ iOS sports betting app is now available at the Apple Store. You can download the app on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. iOS 9.0 or later is required on your device, however. If you are using an Android handheld device, go to FOX Bet NJ on your mobile browser and click the download icon on the top of the page. The download will start automatically, although you might have to check some permissions to finish the installation. 

FOX Bet NJ has a sports betting welcome offer for new bettors that is very similar to several rival NJ online sportsbooks. Essentially, you will get a refund of up to $500 (credited as a free bet) on your first wager placed on the FOX Bet sportsbook, providing that wager loses. So, for example, if you sign up to FOX Bet NJ and place your first bet at $200 and it loses, FOX Bet will refund your account with a $200 free bet. The free bet bonus does not have any minimum odds stipulations, but the stake is not included in any winnings. However, you should note that FOX Bet’ promotional betting markets are excluded from the offer, as are markets like round robins. While the FOX Bet free bet welcome offer is similar to others in the industry, bettors should judge this as a fair offer. No promo code is required for the free bet offer, but you must use the free bet within seven days of it being credited to your account.

As for other sports betting promotions, FOX Bet NJ arguably has claims on being the best online sportsbook for betting promotions. FOX Bet has a long list of dedicated sports betting offers. But, more importantly, those offers are of excellent quality. Some of the highlights include: Weekly Bonus Club, which offers a free bet based on your weekly wagering ($100 will net you a $20 free bet); No Losses in Overtime and Extra Innings Insurance, money back promotions impacting your MLB and NBA betting; Super Boosts (enhanced odds) on NFL, MLB, NBA, NCCAAF, NHL and MLS games; Up to 100% extra profits on parlay bets.  

Special focus should go on FOX Bet’ unique and award-winning sports betting promo – Spin & Bet. This involves adding an extra 10% to your wager stake, which will give you a chance to spin the wheel to get an odds boost up to X10. The odds boost is not guaranteed, but one in every two spins will receive bigger odds. While it’s not currently listed on the site, we should also mention FOX Bet preseason promotion for Super Bowl LIII, which offered odds of 100/1 (+10000) for any team of your choosing to win the Super Bowl ($5 max bet). We hope to see such a brilliant promotion once again available for the upcoming NFL season.

FOX Bet’ sportsbook is also integrated with its Stars Rewards program, a loyalty scheme that also covers its online casino and poker products. You will earn points for wagers placed on sports, which can later be exchanged for ‘Chests’. These are mystery prize boxes that could award up to $1,000 in cash. While Chests are also linked to poker and casino, they are tailored towards your gaming preferences, so you might get free bets and other sports betting-related prizes.

FOX Bet NJ online sportsbook uses software run by Amelco, a UK-based digital betting solutions provider. The layout and design of the sportsbook is a little different from what you will find elsewhere, mostly due to the fact that FOX Bet really tries to grab your attention with its promos. This works well though, as the promotions are often tied in with trending betting events. Getting around the site is easy, with all the main sports given sections prominently situated at the top of the homepage. We should also make clear that FOX Bet website is integrated with PokerStars and PokerStars Casino. You can access those products through the FOX Bet platform, but each product has been kept separate.  

You will find all popular US sports and leagues covered at FOX Bet , including football, basketball, hockey, baseball and soccer. Golf, MMA, rugby, boxing, cycling, motorsports and tennis betting are also offered, but you won’t find much in the way of niche sports. That range of sports is about average for NJ online sportsbooks, but the variety of betting options within each sport is well above the norm. FOX Bet has all the standard moneyline, spread and totals options, but adds in a huge range of props markets – especially in Big 4 US sports leagues and soccer. Round robins are also available. The only negative factor is that there are no options for teasers bets currently offered by FOX Bet NJ.

To test the quality of odds on FOX Bet NJ sportsbook, we chose a random event – the 2020 NBA Finals outright market – and compared the betting lines with FanDuel, SugarHouse and 888sport NJ. FOX Bet NJ provided the best odds on the favorite, LA Clippers, but was beaten on price for other top teams, like the LA Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. FOX Bet was also the best option for teams like Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. No bookmaker is going to offer the best odds on every team and every sport, but we believe bettors will be reasonably happy with FOX Bet’ competitivity in odds setting.

The live betting options at FOX Bet NJ are satisfactory, without being exciting. Major sports events get much better coverage than minor ones, of course, but FOX Bet could arguably add a few more props options for soccer, tennis and baseball, as there are some games offering fewer than 10 in-play betting markets. The live betting software is excellent however, and there is a nice flow to real time odds updates. The Spin & Bet feature can also be applied to live betting, and FOX Bet also has a cash out early function that works perfectly well with its live betting console.
